Christopher Makundi Lall

September 26, 1948 — December 27, 2024

Mart

Christopher Makundi Lall, of Mart, passed away at his home on Friday, December 27, 2024, at age 76.

There will be Visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, in the First Baptist Church in Mart, followed by the Funeral services at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor William McCraw officiating. Burial will follow in the Mart Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his friends from the Christian Motorcycle Association.

Christopher was born on September 26, 1948, to Makundi Lall and Montora Bai Lall in Rajnandgaon, C.G. India. He grew up in India and in 1973 was sponsored to attend Houghton College in New York. He continued to live in the United States thereafter and became a U.S. Citizen in 1985.

Chris worked for the McCulloch Company (chain saw and many other products) beginning in production and promoted to quality control, and was transferred to jobs all over the country.

He eventually moved back to NNY (Northern New York), where he met his wife, Carol Sue Smith. Christopher and Carol were united in marriage on April 30, 1983, in Smithville, NY, and lived there many years.

Chris worked in transportation since 1984, including being known by many as “the old school bus driver” for 27 years, then delivering mail, and then driving a truck (along with Carol also driving.)

In 2019, Chris and Carol moved to Texas, where they had family, and he continued driving trucks. After they had checked out various places to locate, God provided the opportunity for them to purchase their home near Mart. Chris was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mart.

Through the years, Chris made several trips to visit family in India, and he, Carol and all the family made a trip together in 2005. With the development of cell phones, Chris maintained contact with his family in India. Chris was talented in fixing things including his vehicles. His life priorities were First- Jesus, then his family, then “fixing stuff,” then his many motorcycles.

Christopher was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Lall of Mart; daughter, Sarah C. Lall; daughter and son-in-law, Faith and Stephen Tomes; son, Thomas Lall; and daughter and son-in-law, Hannah and Jon Dirks; two grandchildren, Bruin Dirks and Elias Dirks; and his nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate anyone to make donations in memory of Chris send to the First Baptist Church of Mart’s Children’s Ministries, or Samaritan’s Purse, or the Christian Motorcycle Association.
