Clinton James “Clint” Thomas, of Lost Prairie, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at age 41.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Old Union Cemetery.
Clinton was born September 12, 1982, in Waco, TX, son of Denise Duke and Benny Duke and his father, Ricky Williamson. He grew up in the local area and attended Groesbeck schools.
Clinton was truly “a HAND”, and a “jack-of-all-trades”, having worked as a heavy equipment operator, and also worked on oil rigs, excavation, construction, carpentry, and welding. He was also mechanical, always working on a truck. He was crafty with his tools and made silver rings which he gave to all the girls in the family.
Clinton was a jokester with a great smile and beautiful blue eyes. He was a hard worker and great Dad who loved his kids, and he was a loving grandson who loved his MawMaw and PawPaw like no other. He was always willing to help anyone.
He loved music of all kinds and ‘rock’ for sure, and he liked it loud – you knew he was coming by the loud music and ringing pipes on his truck. He enjoyed fishing and camping, arrowhead hunting, 4 wheeling, and kayaking with his sons and daughter. He told the boys they were going to have “big boots to fill one day” and that he was going to make a hand out of those “worms.” He called his daughter “Ryleigh Grace with the pretty face” and told her to “look up at the moon and remember him because he made it just for her.”
Clinton was preceded in death by his special uncle, Layne Martin.
He is survived by his wife, April Thomas; son, Dillon Thomas; son, Jackson Thomas; and daughter, Ryleigh Grace Thomas; mother, Denise Duke; sister and brother-in-law, Samantha and Caleb Dillon and their children, Emma and CJ Dillon; brother and sister-in-law, Justin and Ashley Duke and their children, Jesse, Jaydee and Jolie Duke.
Also, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Leta and Emmett Thomas; his father, Ricky Williamson; brother, DJ Phillips; his daddy and step-mother, Benny and Diana Duke; and sister, Gabby Duke; grandparents, Patricia “Mimi” Duke and Leonard Parker.
His aunts and uncles are: Hope and Todd Thornborough and their children; Janet and Jubie Gallegos and their children; Debbie Duke Scott and family; Linda Jarvis and family; James Duke and family; and bonus aunt and uncle, Jennifer and Kelly Wilson.
