Deborah Jeannette Haynes, of Kosse, passed away at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Waco, at age 63. She left us peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, surrounded by her family who loved her dearly.

Her grandchildren will be the Honorary Pallbearers.

Deborah was born August 8, 1961, to Jim Sheffield and Lillie Mae Hutto in Houston. She grew up and attended school in Pasadena.

Debbie and her family moved to Kosse in 1994. She managed a local convenience store in Kosse many years, and became well acquainted with many Kosse friends and made many memories with those who worked with her. She loved hunting and fishing which she had grown up doing with her family. Later in life, she still enjoyed hunting, though it was shooting doves from the passenger window of the truck. She loved being adventurous and wouldn’t hesitate to jump on a go-cart with her kids.

She later started working in security for the mine and became the supervisor at 3JS Security for Luminant Mine in Kosse. She took her job very seriously, enforcing the rules. She enjoyed being involved in Kosse at the Homecoming and helping at the Methodist Church Fall Festival. She loved to gamble, from her scratch-offs to trips to Casinos.

Debbie lived a life filled with love, laughter, and purpose. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who devoted her life to her family and community. Her warmth, kindness and unwavering support will be deeply missed.

Deborah is preceded in death by her father, Jim Sheffield; sisters, Marion Kay Hinton and Pamela Diane Wellman, and daughter, Kimberly Kay Wise, and former spouse Rocky McNair.

She is survived by her mother Lillie Johnson; son, William Travis Haynes and his fiancée, Brittany Ellis; daughter and son-in-law, Mandy Kay and Clay Little; and Brandy Lee Fowler and her partner, Connie Fowler; and Nicole McNair. Her grandchildren are: Kasey Renee, Kiera Ann, Nicholas Travis, Cheyenne Nicole, Rylee Noah, AJ, Wyatt Cooper, and Waylon Cain. She is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Gail and Gregory Haynes, Patricia Ann and Roscoe Fincher, and Shelly Lynn Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to assist with her funeral expenses to Groesbeck Funeral Home.
