Desmond "Desi" Jay Lenamond

Desmond Jay “Desi” Lenamond, of Groesbeck, passed away at his residence on May 3, 2020, at age 58. 

A Memorial Service will be planned by the family at a later date. 

Desi was born to James Lafayette “Buddy” Lenamond and Sharon (Head) Lenamond in Dallas on March 17, 1962.  He grew up in the Dallas-Mesquite area, and later in life he moved to Groesbeck near his father and other relatives. 

Desi worked during his adult life at various works for the public including bulldozing and other equipment, and he was a very good mechanic.  Desi was also a great cook.  He treated everyone to his beans and Mexican cornbread, and cabbage, and his salsa, at Christmas and other family gatherings.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Dollie Jo (D.J.) Lenamond.  

He is survived by his son, Desmond Jay “Desi” Lenamond, Jr. of Waller; his father, Buddy Lenamond of Groesbeck; his mother Sharon Stephenson of Denver, Co; sister and brother-in-law, Dena and Rob Way of Denver, Co; brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Gretchen Lenamond of Denver, Co; and many uncles and aunts, nieces and nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
