Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Chapel, with Reverend Wayne Blackshear officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Ake, Calvin Pierce, Justin Henderson, Jack Schillig, Mike Gill and Darrell Pierce. Doris was born October 5, 1936 to William Marlow and Zelma (Hopper) Marlow in Bells, TX. She grew up and attended school in White Settlement (Fort Worth.) Doris was united in marriage with Clem Henderson on July 10, 1953 in Fort Worth. They made a few moves during their life with his work, and finally settled twenty-eight years ago at Lake Limestone. After buying a lot on the lake and living in a motor home, they built their home where she enjoyed fishing and water skiing. Doris had always loved fishing and water sports. They loved having the kids and grandchildren at their home, whether for the weekend or for weeks during the summer. Doris also loved playing poker, at which she was very good and usually won. She taught the sons and grandchildren to play but did not give them her secrets of success. She could be counted on to organize a game with friends and at family reunions. She was also a very good seamstress, making many of her own clothes and sewing for the grandchildren, as well as curtains for her home. Doris moved to Waco sixteen years ago, after her husband passed away, to be near her sister and not have the lake property to maintain alone. She was a member of the Primrose Baptist Church at Robinson. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Gill and Zelma Marlow; her husband Clem Henderson; a son, Mark Henderson; and her brother, Jack Marlow. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Terri Henderson of Kountz; sister, Betty Henson of Waco; daughter-in-law, Kim Henderson of Katy; four grandchildren: Dawne Gill of St. Amant, LA, Justin Henderson of Rosenberg, Kim Williams of Baton Rouge, LA, and Heath Henderson of Beaumont; twelve great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and her dear friend, Frank Roberts.
