Frances Manes passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at the age of 93, at the Golden Years Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Marlin, Texas. Frances was born on June 18, 1925, in Otto, Texas, to Walter Bryant Denton and Elnora Ogden Denton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buel Manes; her youngest son, Michael Wayne Manes; her sister, Maxine Dieterich; her brother, Jack Denton; and a niece, LaShawn Dieterich. Frances is survived by her son, John Manes, and wife Pauline, of Houston; a niece, Christy and husband John Culpepper; as well as granddaughters: Jana Dulock of Marlin, Lynne Campbell and husband Ryan of Teague, Melanie Bhateley and husband Dileep of Waco, and Elizabeth Sharp of Frisco. Frances had several great grandchildren: Brent Manes, Cody Windham, Clay Crane, and Abigail Kilman; and a great nephew, Raymond Stetson Ehlers. She was blessed with two great great grandchildren, Jaxton and Journey. Frances spent much of her life creating floral arrangements at the local flower shop in Marlin, spending time with her grandkids, and loving on her cats and dogs. She will be greatly missed by her family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at the East Side Church of Christ, 5099 State Highway 7 in Marlin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Golden Years Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marlin.
