Grayson William Howard, of Lake Limestone (Leon County side), passed away on June 17, 2020 at Providence Hospital in Waco, at age 59.
His remains will be interred in the Arlington National Cemetery, where his father was previously interred.
Grayson, known to many as Gray or Howard, was born July 24, 1960 in Charlotte, North Carolina to George and Cynthia (Vickery) Howard. He grew up in Mooresville, NC.
Grayson served in the U. S. Army, in the Ranger Battalion. During parachute maneuvers, he sustained severe injuries, resulting in his disability. He was honorably discharged.
Grayson was united in marriage with Vivian Charlotte Yancey in Gatesville eighteen years ago, and they made their home at Lake Limestone. Grayson enjoyed fishing and digging for the arrowheads which he collected.
Grayson had a group of friends scattered around Oglesby, Gatesville, Waco, and all around the United States. His good friends locally were Steven and Dana Mansfield and Ronnie Dossey and his wife.
He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Vivian; his mother, Cynthia Howard, who lived with he and Vivian; and his two sisters and two brothers.
