Ivonne (Lafoy) Black, of Houston and formerly of Groesbeck, passed away in Marble Falls on Friday, February 4, 2022, at age 95.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel, with Reverend Tracy Sims of the Central Baptist Church of Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in Faulkenberry Cemetery.
Ivonne was born in Groesbeck on November 23, 1926, to Gus C. Lafoy and Grace (Franklin) Lafoy. She graduated from Groesbeck High School in the Class of 1945.
Ivonne married Robert Vannoy Black, from Mexia, on May 4, 1946, when he returned from his military service after WWII.
She and her husband Robert made their home in Houston, TX, where he passed away March 20, 2010.
Ivonne is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Diana Black of Cottonwood Shores; grandsons, Gary Wayne Black and his wife Jenny of Bedford and Bryce Black and his wife Frances of Baton Rouge, LA; six great grandchildren; and also, by her sisters, Betty Lafoy of Groesbeck and Marie Weaver of Cedar Park, and other extended family members.
