Jack Justin Telford

Jack Telford, 75, of Groesbeck passed away at home on Monday, August 13, 2018, at his home.Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Groesbeck Funeral Home.Funeral services will be conducted at 3 PM on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tracy Sims and Pastor Brett Turner officiating.  Burial will follow at Cobb Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Joe Pennington, Joe Towers, Jeff Blair, Brian Swick, Grady Lenamond, Garrett Lenamond, Danny Sherrod, and Adam Fitte.  Jack was born to Floyd Jesse and Lorayne June (Brand) Telford on September 28, 1942.   Jack was born at, and grew up on the family farm in Liberty, Texas.  As a youth he picked cotton and soybeans, and worked after school as a service station attendant.   In his high school years, Jack loved playing baseball.  He graduated from Liberty High School In 1960. His early adult work experience included employment by Austin Road & Bridge, Exxon, the U.S. Postal Service, as a dump truck service driver and pigeon catcher.   He later opened Jack's Drive Inn and then Jack and Judy's Sale Barn Cafe.   After selling the Sale Barn Cafe, he planned on retiring to his beloved cabin in Pitkin, Colorado. However, his hardworking nature would not let him rest and he returned to the work force as a driver for MI Drilling Fluids, opened JJ's Drive Inn in Mexia, and also worked as a hot shot driver for Telford Services.   Jack was a friend to his community, always willing to help another. He offered jobs, housing, and sage advice to those in need.   He and his wife, Judy, were instrumental in organizing numerous benefits for others with financial needs.   Even in his last days, he offered kind words to others and continued to share his fun sense of humor.  Jack was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Telford and his brother, Jimmy Telford. He is survived by his wife, Judy Telford of Groesbeck; mother, Lorayne Telford of Liberty, sister and brother-in -law, Jan and Bill Turner of Dayton; children, Tara White of Groesbeck, Todd Telford and Trish Williams of Groesbeck, and Jon Telford of Groesbeck;  Eight grandchildren, Dusty White, Logan and Stefanie Telford, Ariel and Jeremy Willis, Chelsea and Jubal Hudson, Brittany Telford, Victoria Telford, Ginger Telford, and Kolby Morton; 7 great- grandchildren, Emma Telford, Evelyn Telford, Eliza Telford, Jagger Willis, River Willis, Cash Ortiz and Salem Hudson; numerous nephews, nieces and countless loving friends.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Limestone County Cancer Support Group, P.O.
