James Walter Taylor

James "Walter" Taylor passed away at home in Groesbeck on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.  He was blessed to be in the company of Judy, his children and friend, Junior.

Walter loved George Strait, watching movies and talking on the phone.  Despite his rough exterior, Walter rescued many an animal.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepdad, Mary Jane Thompson and Robert Leldon Thompson; his dad, James Edward Taylor; sister, Mary Ann Williams and brother, Thomas Edward Taylor.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Brandi and Anthony Roark of Magnolia, Heath and Nicole Taylor of Conroe, Ashley and Chance Towery of Richards, and Chance Taylor of Groveton; long time companion and life partner, Judy Taylor of Groesbeck; grandchildren, Isaac Roark, Logan Roark, David Roark, Adriana Taylor, Lucy Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Lauren Towery, Leldon Towery, and Mackenzie Taylor.  He is also survived by brothers, Pat Taylor of Boise, ID and Jerry Taylor of Kentucky; brother to Walter's kids, Chris Parmely-Taylor of Navasota; sister, Leilani Leonard of Forney; and aunt, Margarette Ann Brown of Fankfort, KY.
