Jason Brett Philmon

Jason Brett Philmon, of Austin, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at age 52.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel.   Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Jason was born April 13, 1970, to JH Philmon, Jr. and Janie Ruth (Hunter) Philmon in Houston.  He spent his childhood in Pasadena, TX. In 1985 the family moved to La Mirada, California where he graduated from La Mirada High School in 1988.  He was involved in baseball, football, and enjoyed fishing.   He worked for the family electrical contracting business.

He moved back to Texas in 1994. In Texas he continued his electrician career and in 1988 joined IBEW Union and Trade School.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, JH Philmon, Jr.(in 2000); maternal grandparents, Barto and Vernita Hunter (1983, 1998); paternal grandfather, JH Philmon, Sr. (1976) and paternal grandmother (1989.)

He is survived by his mother, Janie Philmon of Kosse; sister, brother-in-law, nephew and niece: Wendi, Mark, Jake and Brooke Campbell of Dallas; brother, Lanny Lown of Kosse; brother, Michael Sulewski of Kosse; aunt and uncle, Sue and Dale Langston of Pearland; cousins, Cari Lavorn of Tomball and Amanda Powledge of Friendswood; companion, Cathye Farmer of Austin; best friend, Paul Nicolaue of Austin and friend, Jedd Bennett of Austin.
