Jo Ann Rasco, most recently of Conroe, TX passed away peacefully in her sleep in her apartment home on Sunday, Dec. 3rd, 2023 at 7:45 pm at the age of 93 with her youngest son by her side.
A memorial service and celebration of Jo Ann’s life will be held at Cobb Cemetery in Thornton, TX on Saturday, March 30th at 11:00 am.
Jo Ann was born on Sept. 18th, 1930 in Houston, TX to Charles and Ida “Baba” Gremillion, the youngest of three children. She married Paul Rasco from Thornton, TX on Jan. 5th, 1952. They were married and lived in the Pasadena, TX area for all their married life together where they had three children.
Jo Ann worked at TRW, Inc. in Houston, TX as a card-punch operator for over 20 years. She retired to spend more time with her husband and family as well as to travel.
Jo Ann had and enjoyed several hobbies over the span of her life; including bingo, bowling, cooking, dressing in fashionable outfits, enjoying well-cooked meals, keeping a clean house, sewing, shopping, socializing, square dancing, talking with friends, traveling, watching classic movies and most notably spending time with her family, which includes three children, 11 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In retirement and in her later life, Jo Ann had a very tight-knit group of friends. This close group of friends referred to themselves as the YaYa Sisters and they brought Jo Ann a tremendous amount of joy.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents; Charles and Ida Gremillion, her husband of 49 years Paul Rasco, her sister and brother-in-law, John & Sue Hoesel and her brother and sister-in-law Charles “Bubba” & Betty Ann Gremillion.
Jo Ann is survived by her oldest son and daughter in law, Gary & Dorothy Rasco, her daughter and son in law, Eddie & Leslie Baca and her youngest son and daughter in law, David & Brenda Rasco. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and their spouses; Brad & Kara Baca, Brooks & Megan Baca, Stephen & Amanda Baca, Scott & Kaci Baca, Brian Baca, Taylor & Laura Rasco, Cody Rasco, Mallory Rasco, Wilson Rasco, Parker Rasco and Lydia Rasco. As well as her eight great grandchildren.
Jo Ann is also survived by her brother-in-law Solon Rasco and her sister-in-law Jackie Gremillion.
