Jodie Faye Winn, age 83, of Oletha, TX, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024, in Temple, TX, surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 1, 2024, beginning at 2:30 p.m. before the funeral at the Oletha Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Oletha Baptist Church, with Reverend Bill Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in McKenzie Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Will Winn, Connor Winn, Wes Parnell, Darin Smith, Caleb Winn, and Russell Smith.
Jodie was born in the house on the hill in Oletha, TX on May 22, 1941, to Lola Faye Parrott (1921 – 2003) and Jodie William Martin (1914 – 2001).
Jodie attended Groesbeck High School, where she graduated in the class of 1959. On March 5, 1960, she married her lifelong friend and high school sweetheart, Glynn Winn. They were born 3 days apart, delivered by the same doctor, and spent the last 30+ years living across the street from where it all started. They were married for 64 years. She devoted her whole life to taking care of her husband, 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She attended every event she possibly could for her family and their hobbies became her hobbies. She was also an active member of Oletha Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Glynn Winn, sister-in-law, Jan Winn, her sons, David Winn and wife Sheila of Groesbeck, TX, Terry Winn of Thornton, TX, Michael Winn and wife Tara of Port Neches, TX, and daughter, Becky Smith and husband Russell of Nederland, TX. She had 6 grandchildren, including Amber Parnell, Darin Smith, Candace Wilson, Will Winn, Connor Winn, and Caleb Winn, and 7 great grandchildren who she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jodie and Lola Faye Martin, her mother and father-in-law, Bert and Virene Winn, and brothers-in-law, Curtis Winn and Cecil Winn.
