John Mark Hill

September 14, 1962 — April 16, 2018

John Mark Hill passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 in Houston, unexpectedly, at age 55.   Visitation will be held in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 21, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 22, 2018 in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Randy Ayres of the Word of Life Family Worship Center officiating.  Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest beside his grandparents. John Mark Hill was born September 14th, 1962, in Garland Texas on a beautiful fall day, to Linda Griffen & Curtis Hardwick.  His grandparents, James B. Hill and Ida Marie Hill, would later have a major role in shaping the strong and steady man he would become.  At a young age John showed a powerful love for the Lord and his family. John Mark spent his last year's living in Houston, working for himself doing home improvements and repairs.  He ministered to anyone that would listen, whether it was about the Lord and giving Him all glory in everything, or about nutrition. He was so full of life, and he radiated with life and joy.  He was always singing, didn't matter where he was or what he was doing, and he was never quiet about it. John Mark is proceeded in death by both of his parents and step-dad, Edwin Griffen, and both of his grandparents. John Mark is survived by his 2 sons, James and Joshua Hill and their mother Sandra Gibson, along with his 2 daughter-in-laws, Jennifer Hill and Brigett Hill.  He has 6 grandchildren - Gabriel, Emily, Michael, Jaxon, Grace, and Raelyn Hill.   John Mark has 3 sisters and 1 brother: Phyllis Schell, Shannon Garcia, Kristie Austin and Anthony Griffen, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
