Kosse

Johnny Pesina “Boots” Lujan, of Kosse, passed away at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in McKinney, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at age 73.

A Memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel.

Johnny was born in Ennis, Tx. to Frank C. Lujan and Trinidad Pesina Lujan on March 15, 1951. He grew up in Lancaster, TX. and attended school at Lancaster ISD. His interests during his younger years included riding horses, bull riding, and motorcycles.

He was a truck driver in the oil fields of Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico or wherever the job took them. He worked on other various jobs all over the United States, including laying pipelines in Hawaii and Guam.

His nickname “Boots” was given him by the motorcycle club he rode with for the “lineman” style high top boots he always wore. He couldn’t wait to get home to Kosse from working out of town to ride his Harley, including trips to bike rallies, some trips with his brothers and sisters and some trips with his son, Jason.

He also loved going to the gun range to practice shooting his guns and taking his son J.P. to teach him gun safety.  Johnny was a kind-hearted man, who had adopted 2 children.   He was willing to help anyone and had many friends.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his sons, Jason and wife Terri Perry of Thornton and J.P. Lujan of Groesbeck; granddaughter, MacKenzie Perry; brothers and sisters, Frank, Virginia, Mary and Sylvia; nephews, Frank, Alex and Isidro; nieces, Trinidad, Stephanie, Sylvia, Josephine, Christina, and Amelia; 6 great nieces, 12 great nephews, and 17 great-great nieces and nephews.
