Linda J. (Naida) Marshall, of Groesbeck, passed away in Waco, on Sunday, June 16, 2019, at age 67, following a short term of illness.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 22, 2019 in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Jeremiah Trejo officiating.
Linda was born in Elmira, New York, on April 27, 1952 to Joseph Naida and Rose Ontl Naida, the next to the oldest of their thirteen children. She grew up and attended school in Elmira.
After she was out of school, she moved to Virginia and later in life also lived in Georgia and Alaska, before moving to Texas. She enjoyed her time in Georgia, and enjoyed working there with plants in nurseries. Although her parents and brother had moved to Texas some years earlier, Linda moved to Groesbeck to live with her brother Richie in 2002.
Linda worked for a time at Los Pepes, and then worked at Mexia State School until she retired. She was a beautiful lady, and she was creative in sketching and photography. She earned a certificate from the New York Institute of Photography, which allowed her to wear a pass to attend various events to take pictures. She enjoyed taking pictures of her family and performed wedding photography. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles all the time.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Joseph Naida; her sister, Annette LaBarbera of Marlin; and brothers, Danny Naida and Carl Naida of Elmira, New York.
She is survived by her son, Daniel C. Marshall of West Hollywood, CA; and a daughter, Jamie Marshall. She is also survived by four sisters and their families: Rose Chapman of Mart, Lori Hickman of Mart, Cathy Moran of Mart, and Susie Sturgill of Elmira, NY; and five brothers and their families: Richie Naida of Groesbeck, Greg Naida of Slaton, Rory Naida of Waco, Joey Naida of Elmira, NY, and Eddie Naida of Elmira, NY; and her many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank all the nurses and nursing staff at Providence Hospital and ICU, Regent Care in Waco, and Interim Health Care Hospice for their kindness and compassion for Linda and the family during their difficult time.
