Marvin Lee Foley, born September 16, 1945, in Groesbeck departed this life on May 2, 2024, in Mexia at the age of 78.
Update: Funeral services will be held at in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 13,2024 due to inclement weather and cemetery conditions. Burial will follow at a later date in New Hope Cemetery.
A patriot and servant, Marvin dedicated himself to his country, service with distinction in the United States Army from March 17, 1972, until his honorable discharge on June 22, 1977. His commitment to duty continued through his storied career in law enforcement from which he ultimately retired.
Marvin's pastimes reflected his love for tradition and the outdoors. A skilled hand at repairing computers and laptops, he also cherished the moments spent deer hunting alongside his best friend Lindell and son, Ricky Foley.
He leaves behind a legacy of devotion to his loving wife, Shirley Foley; son, Ricky Foley; and a supportive family including his brother, Ron Foley and wife Theresa of Groesbeck; sister, Mary Lou Offield and husband Bruce of Ore City; sister, Janice Sue Smith and husband Bubba of Nocona.
Marvin is preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Foley, who now welcomes him into eternal rest.
The Foley family wishes to extend gratitude to all friends and family who share in their mourning. Marvin Lee Foley's presence will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched. As we bid him farewell, we find solace in the memories and the honorable life he led.
