Mary Beth Day of Houston, passed away at home on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at age 90. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Pavilion at Faulkenberry Cemetery. Mary Beth was born on November 27, 1927 to J.B. Turner and Buena Evans Turner at Dallas, where she grew up and graduated from Highland Park High School.After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1939, and a Masters Degree of Science from SMU in Dallas in 1951, Mary Beth taught 5th. grade for Houston Independent School District, from 1951 until 1955. Mary Beth married Thomas Day on September 2, 1952 in Houston at St. Paul's Methodist Church. They lived in West University in Houston since 1955. Mary Beth was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church in Houston since 1951, and a volunteer for Methodist Hospital in Houston from 1993 until 2018.Mrs. Day was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, JB Turner in 1938; and her husband Thomas Day, on April 20, 1993. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Keith Christie of Garland; son, Mark Day of Houston; grandsons, Thomas Christie of North Richland Hills, Daniel Christie of Garland, Samuel and wife Jennifer Christie of Fort Worth; and great grandson, Nathaniel Christie of Fort Worth.
