Cappie Hyden of Groesbeck passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Skilled Care in Mexia.
Graveside services will be held 10 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Cobb Cemetery Pavilion with Dr. Keith Collier of Groesbeck First Baptist Church and Chaplain Jon Honea of Rock Prairie Baptist Church officiating.
Cappie was born on September 18, 1924 in Waukomis, OK to Paul and Mary Webb Reid, the oldest of a mixed family of 11 children. She grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Enid High School in 1942. Later attended and graduated from Kilgore Junior College with an Associates of Science degree. Mary married Rex Franklin Hyden on April 8, 1946 and the two reared three girls. Rex’s job with Sun Oil required the family to move frequently all over Texas. She worked various jobs throughout the years as a bookkeeper, secretary and retired from a secretarial position with the Rusk County Clerk’s Office at the same time Rex retired from Sun Oil Company. They then made their final move to Lake Limestone and eventually to Groesbeck.
Cappie is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Rex Hyden in May of 2018; siblings, Paul Webb, Bruce Webb, Bobby Webb, Joy Ulrey, Bonnie Meeker, Linda Jones and infant sister Mildred Kent.
She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Ricky and husband Don Therneau of San Antonio, Janeece Bolton of Groesbeck and Bonnie and husband J.D. Winstead of Longview; grandchildren, Dr. Deneece and husband Bobby Ferrales of Waco, Cody and wife Annie Winstead of Tyler, Misty and husband Collin Cantrell of Houston, Rex and wife Sarah Bolton of Hernandez, NM, Megan Bolton of Groesbeck, Jennifer Winstead Smith of Longview; 10 great grandchildren, Angel Ferrales, Ariel Cantrell, Cade Cantrell, Conner Cantrell, Thomas Bolton, Ethan Bolton, Luke Bolton, Kaia Bolton, Colton Smith and Logan Graham; siblings, Evie Rheims, Ruth Ging and Lee Kent as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
