Nettie LouAnn Daylor

March 30, 1941 — June 24, 2021

Nettie LouAnn Daylor, of Groesbeck, has graduated to eternal life, when she passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Providence ICU in Waco, at age 80.

LouAnn was born March 30, 1941 to Alfred A. Cobb and Kathalee Louise (Trott) Cobb in Wagoner, Oklahoma, the third child in a family of seven siblings.   She grew up and attended school in Wagoner.

LouAnn met her future husband, James D. Daylor, also of Oklahoma.    LouAnn and James were united in marriage on November 30, 1983 in Miami, OK.    They continued to live and work in Oklahoma until moving to Groesbeck, Texas in 1996.

LouAnn worked in the home health care field until the year she was needed at home to take care of James after he suffered a serious fall and broken back.

She was a very firm Christian and in fact taught her faith to James.   She was a “hugger” and hugged friends and strangers and especially James.   She had a special fondness for children and took pleasure in handing them a dollar.  Having grown up with a father who gave a quarter to each child he saw, she kept a stack of dollar bills folded up and ready to hand out to children.

LouAnn was a hard worker and was constantly busy with something.   She took excellent care of her home, her yard (she really loved mowing and working in the yard), her puppies, and James.   James went from being a heavy-equipment operator to a full-time nurse the past month to take care of LouAnn as she suffered greatly with her health. She has now graduated from her earthly struggles and suffers no more.

LouAnn was preceded in death by her parents and one brother and one sister.

She is survived by her devoted husband, James Daylor of Groesbeck; daughter, Lori Davis of Waco; daughter, Susan Mayfield of Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters and their spouses; and nieces and nephews.
