Pamela Dempsey, 63, of Groesbeck, Texas passed away peacefully in her home on June 8, 2018 after her long battle with kidney disease. She was born on November 6, 1954 in Angleton Texas where she grew up in a loving family surrounded by many friends. She attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and the University of Texas in Austin where she graduated and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. At UT, Pam was very active in her sorority, Alpha Phi and a member of TexasExes after graduation. Before she began her career in teaching, Pamela worked in broadcasting and shared her experiences as a state and national twirling champion, tutoring contestants for competition. The education of children became her passion as she taught first through fourth grades in Brazoria County and then in Limestone County. Pamela was preceded in death by her parents Dobin and Marguerite Dempsey of Angleton; and her sister, Sue Emmitte Willy, also of Angleton. She is survived by her nephews and nieces; Mark Anthony Emmitte and Damien Fox of Houston; Christopher Keith Emmitte and Joseph Hyser of Houston; John and Toni Emmitte Hanson of Angleton, Silvia and Sarah Hanson Leija of Angleton; Thomas and Rachael Hanson Friudenberg of Lake Jackson and her brother-in-law Richard Willy of Angleton. Pam was buried in Seale-Round Prairie Cemetery next to her mother and father in a private service.
