Marlin, TX

Priscilla Ann Gonzales, of Marlin, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Golden Years Nursing Home in Marlin, at age 55.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin, with Pastor Kevin Brown officiating.

Priscilla was born January 23, 1968, in Marlin, TX to Ambrose and Flora Gonzales.  She was active in little league softball and roller skating.  Priscilla was a LULAC princess (League of United Latin American Citizens.)   She also enjoyed swimming and fishing at the Brazos River.  Priscilla graduated from Marlin High School in the Class of 1986.

Priscilla went to cosmetology school, cut hair and worked at Head Shapers in Waco.   She also worked as a caregiver for Avalon Center and enjoyed having many of the girls over for holidays and take them out to movies and other activities, shopping, etc.

Priscilla’s two boys, Ricco and Mickey, were the pride of her life.  Although she couldn’t attend their school events, she was always with them in spirit and was their greatest supporter.    As Priscilla suffered failing health, her caregivers in the past included Sammy Elfrez and Mickey Elfrez, Sr. (who was the father of her two sons, Ricco and Mickey, Jr.).   In more recent years, her sister, Olivia Smith and her cousin, Martha Welch were her loving caregivers for the remainder of her life.

Priscilla is preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose and Flora Gonzales and a brother, George Gonzales.

She is survived by her sons, Ricco Elfrez of China Spring and Mickey Elfrez, Jr. of China Spring; sisters, Oliva Ward Smith of Marlin and Gloria Davenport of Waco; 5 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and extended family, which includes her loving caregivers named above.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Golden Years Nursing Home where she had resided during the past few years for the care they provided to Priscilla.
