Richard Lee “Ricky” Langford, of Bremond, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023, in Kosse, at age 61.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jon Honea officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Creek Cemetery, near Bremond.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Hendry, Casey Hendry, Gary McGregor, Mark Ellison, Stephen Jones, T-Bone and Larry Conn.
Ricky was born October 10, 1961, to Lee Langford and Beatrice (Lehman) Langford in Hearne, where he grew up. He graduated from Hearne High School in the Class of 1980.
Ricky grew up interested in ag and participated in the Robertson County Fair showing animals he raised. Since his dad was a truck driver, it was natural for him to be interested in trucks, and after he finished school, he drove over-the-road, state-wide for a time.
Ricky developed his own trucking company, Langford Trucking, at Bremond and worked in the rock-hauling industry. Although he was basically a private person, he made many friends, with his co-workers, and the people he met at the places where he had business. He was involved with trucks seven days a week, whether driving or working on the trucks with his natural mechanical ability. He enjoyed seeing the countryside while he was driving. His work was his life, but he remained very close with his mother all his life.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the community who have been a support to them in their loss of Ricky, and to the Hearne High Class of 1980 for their friendship with Ricky and support for his family. And a very special thanks to his drivers and dispatchers.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Lee Langford, and his sister, Kathy Bingham White.
He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Langford; brother, Buddy Bingham and his wife Teresa; sister, Betty Bingham Winkler and her husband Bob; sister, Pat Langford Wold and her husband, Dale; brother, Larry Langford; and sister, JoAnn Langford Ellison and her husband Mark. He also has many nieces and nephews: Kathy’s children, Michael White, Diana (Dee-Dee) Ferrell and Sondra Anspach; Buddy’s children: Courtenay, Lindsay and Rainey; Pat’s children: Dylan Wold, Chelsea Wold and Austin Wold; Betty’s children: Angela Winkler, Jason Winkler, Thomas Winkler and Cheryl Leite; and JoAnn’s children, Heather Jones, Jessica Dunn and Jennifer Dunn; and numerous great nieces, great nephews and other extended family.
