Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Powell, John Paul Steike, Kevin Sanders, Dave Robertson, Jeremy Owen, Matt Jackson, Cedric Davis, Michael Medlock, and Jeff Steen (in memory).

Bobby was born July 30, 1962, in Waco to Harvey Edward Bowers and Janet (Meeker) Fleet. He grew up in Groesbeck and graduated from Groesbeck High School in the Class of 1980.

Bobby worked in construction all his life and was very good in his work as a heavy equipment operator. He lived all of his life in Groesbeck except for the year he worked in California on construction for the big round Apple building in San Jose. Another big project he worked on locally was the concrete work at the new Baylor stadium.

Bobby also was very talented in woodwork, metal work and leather work. He made many crosses, birdhouses and other items for the family and gifts. He also devoted a lot of time and details on his vehicles, including working on and driving muscle cars. He customized the sound systems, so that you could “hear him coming” and ‘feel” the heavy metal music which he loved and which became also a part of his daughter and grandchildren’s passions. He also loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, even recently still wanting one.

He was a dad who enjoyed playing with his daughter, teaching her to be tough while having fun, such as on the roller coasters (which he loved) at Six Flags in Arlington, and "haunted houses" where he took Rachel to celebrate her birthdays.  Even as a kid, Bobby had made sure to keep his sister, Robin, frightened while taking her on the scary rides and to haunted houses.

Bobby loved his daughter and grandchildren, but he also was an animal lover all his life, first with dogs, and was never without a dog. Later in life, while married to Catherine, he devoted his love to cats, known as the OG Cat Daddy and might be seen singing to his cats. He was fun loving, and joked a lot, a trait which he shared with Rachel.

Bobby enjoyed trips with his girlfriend, Jan, to Galveston, to the beach, camping, and thrifting (as junking as he called it.)

Bobby had a big heart and would give anything to anyone in need. He had empathy for others, easy to cry over the sad trials of life, which was another trait he gave his daughter and grandson.

Bobby was a long-time member of the Word of Life Family Worship Center in Groesbeck along with his wife and daughter. He was recently baptized on September 17, 2023. He continued working, even though in pain, until January, and had endured a real struggle with his health the past few months.

Preceded in death by his father, Harvey “Bo” Bowers, Jr. and his wife, Catherine Bowers.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Dave Robertson of Teague and grandchildren, Emma Woodruff and Calvin Woodruff, all of Teague; his mother, and step-father, Janet and Ray Fleet of Kosse; girlfriend, Jan Massey of Groesbeck; sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Brandon Powell of Groesbeck; Rachel’s mom, Michelle Bowers of Teague; and nieces and their families: Skylar and Matt Jackson and children, Judah and Journey, and Autumn and Jeremy Owen and their children, Rustyn, Emersyn, and Kingston.
