Ronnie Kyle Austin, of Thornton, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at age 77.
Ronnie was born January 1, 1944 to Pat Austin and Helen Mae (Taif) Austin in Ft. Worth. He grew up in Fort Worth, and after he graduated high school, he had two years of college at TCJC.
Ronnie was united in marriage with Ruby Austin on August 17, 1963 in McLennan County. Ronnie was a veteran who served in the U. S. Navy.
He retired from General Motors in the Parts Department, having worked in Fort Worth and later moved to Brandon, Mississippi to work in the opening of a new plant. They moved to Lake Limestone and he was a member of the Lake Limestone Baptist Church. Ronnie loved playing his guitar and making people happy with music.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruby in 2018; and his brothers, Pat Jr., Deanie, and J. Austin.
He is survived by his son Roger Kyle Austin and his partner Sarah of Crowley; son, Gregory Scott Austin of Thornton; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan O’Neal and Vivian Austin of Seattle, WA; and son, Russell Eugene Austin. His grandchildren are: Joshua Keith Austin, Steven Carlile Austin, and Alyssa Renee Austin; and great grandchildren, Alex Conner Austin and Rylan Walker Austin.
