Rose Ann was born March 11, 1945 to Walter Wooten and Lorene Johnson Wooten at Fulbright (Red River County).    She grew up and attended school in that area.

Rose Ann married the love of her life, Keith Spears, on November 26, 1961 in Lubbock.    They lived in various towns during their lives together.    They settled in this local area in 1982.

Rose Ann was a “stay-at-home” mom with four children to raise and care for.  She loved her kids and was also kind and generous to anyone.   She would feed and fix up the couch for anyone needing it and treated everyone like extended family.  She never knew a stranger.    She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was loved by them.   She had taken care of each one of them at some time or other and they all loved to go to Grandma’s house.  She spoiled them and when they said “Mammaw, can I….?” she tried to give them anything they wanted.  Rose moved to Groesbeck a few years ago to be near her family.  What wonderful memories of the love she has given her family for all to remember about her.

Rose Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Spears in 2004 and a daughter, Shirley Spears in 1962.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Elizabeth Spears of Mart; daughter, Janice Mason of Groesbeck; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and James Teakell of Groesbeck; and daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Tommy Horton of Groesbeck; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.  Also, she has two sisters, Patsy Dempsey of Perry and Nelda Sue Harris of Mart; a brother, Keith Wooten of Reno and a host of other family.
