Ruby Inez Austin, of Thornton passed away at home on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at age 74. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Lake Limestone Baptist Church, with Reverend Ken Worley officiating. Ruby was born April 6, 1944 to Ira Williams and Eunice (Cloer) Williams in Lott, TX. She grew up and attended school in Lott. Ruby was united in marriage with Ronnie K. Austin on August 17, 1963 in Waco. They had met when his brother was dating and married her sister. After they were married, they lived in Fort Worth. In the late 1990’s the family moved to Brandon, Mississippi where Ronnie opened a new General Motors plant. Off and on during her life, Ruby worked in the towns where they lived as a seamstress in sewing factories. Ruby grew up as a member of the Baptist church in a small town near Lott. She was a very loving mother and wife, and knew how to run a household of a husband and four sons. She will be missed dearly by her family and the friends she had made locally. She had suffered many health problems for some years. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Christine Wellman; and three brothers, George Williams, W.C. Williams, and Harold Williams. She Is survived by her husband, Ronnie Austin of Thornton; son, Roger K. Austin of Fort Worth; son, Gregory Scott Austin of Thornton; son Brian O’Neal Austin and wife Vivian of Seattle, WA; and son, Russell E. Austin of Thornton; grandsons, Steven C. Austin of Fort Worth, Joshua K. Austin of Wortham and Brandon Austin of Colorado; granddaughter, Alyssa Austin of Fort Worth; great grandson Alex C. Austin of Wortham; and three sisters, Juanita Austin of Fort Worth, Elsie Campbell of Groesbeck, and Patsy Brim of Groesbeck; and many nieces and nephew.
