At an early age, Olean accepted Christ as her Savior. She was a Godly woman and faithful servant for the remaining years of her life. At the time of her passing, she was a member of First Baptist Church Groesbeck. On January 21, 1939 she married the love of her life, Elmer Baulch. They lived in Houston, Texas where they were blessed with two daughters, JoAnn and Pam. They later settled in Beaumont where they opened Kri-Pax Baking Company. Elmer preceded her in death on April 1, 1974. Olean was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and often baking her famous homemade pies. She also spent countless hours at the sewing machine making outfits for her daughters, nieces and later her grandchildren. Olean always enjoyed being at the beach fishing with her husband and spending time with family and friends. She was a very loving and caring grandmother to her grandchildren. Her oldest granddaughter quickly named her “Grandmother” so the next two followed her choice calling her grandmother. Then years later her youngest grandson decided to change her name to MeMe. She has been called MeMe by all of the others that followed. It didn’t matter to her what she was called because she loved each one in a way that made them always feel very special. She also dearly loved her sons-in-law, David and Cotton, as much as her daughters and they dearly loved her.
