William “Bill” Luther Hunt, 87, went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2022, as he passed away peacefully in Groesbeck, TX.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023, in the Kosse City Cemetery, with Brother Richard Williams of the Church of Christ of Groesbeck officiating.
Bill was born in Fort Worth, TX. on July 15, 1935, the son of Virginia Jones Hunt and L. B. Hunt, Jr.
During his early years, he lived in North Fort Worth and attended Trimble Tech High School. After high school, Bill joined the US Navy and made cruises aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard aircraft carrier during the Korean war.
Bill met Norma Reynolds in Fort Worth and they later married. They moved to Brenham, TX where Bill became a Supervisor for the City of Brenham.
Norma passed away in 2000, and Bill retired and moved to Kosse to be close to his parents, and later he moved to Groesbeck, where he started ranching. Bill loved fishing, hunting and ranching.
Bill is preceded in death by wife, Norma Hunt; parents, L.B. Hunt, Jr. and Virginia Hunt; infant son, William Hunt, Jr.; brother, John Hunt; uncle, Jack Hunt; and nephew, David Hunt.
He is survived by his brother, James Hunt and wife, Peggy; nieces, Gina Todd and Jill Russell and her husband, Wayne Russell; nephew, Brandon Hunt and his wife Emily; David’s mother, Jan Hunt; Norma’s sister, Elsie DeMond; friends, Wes and Honey Suttle; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family.
