William "Buddy" Lee Thornton

William L. (Buddy) Thornton, 78, died May 27, 2021, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Buddy was born in Port Arthur, Texas and attended Cypress Fairbanks High School. Subsequently, Buddy enjoyed a long and successful career as a commercial electrician.

Working for several large electrical companies as a member of IBEW 716, he retired in 2005 when he and his wife Mary moved to Thornton, Texas for their retirement years.

Buddy is survived by his wife Mary Hodge Thornton to whom he was very happily married for 58 years; his son Donald Thornton and his wife Lori; his daughter Pamela Thorstenberg and her partner Robert Crutchfield; his granddaughter Nicole Browning and her husband Cody; his grandson Clayton Thornton and his wife Rachel; his grandchildren Lisa Cunningham and Colton Cunningham; and five great grandchildren including Aubree Thornton, Owen Browning, Logan Browning, Harper Thornton and Emily Browning.

A memorial service will be held Saturday June 5, 2021 in the Groesbeck Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Brandon Verm officiating.
